Natural remedy for athlete's foot

Athlete’s foot is one of the most common fungal infections of the foot. It is especially common in athletic people who frequent gyms, and spa change rooms. This fungal infection is also known as ‘ringworm of feet’. There are a number of natural remedies for athlete’s foot. You can also treat it within your home easily.

Athlete’s foot causes itching and redness in the foot and between the toes. It happens more often to men than women. This is because of the reason that men wear heavier boots and shoes than women. Athlete’s foot can appear because of warm and damp places. Remedies for athlete’s foot:

  1. After finishing your shower, make sure that you dry your feet completely. If you are suffering badly then you can also use hair dryer to dry your feet.
  2. If your feet perspire, you should wear socks and change them often. Try to wear socks which will help absorb the moisture from your feet.
  3. Make a paste of baking soda with one teaspoon of water. Apply this paste on your feet and rinse them thoroughly. At the end, apply some talcum or baby powder.
  4. Plain yoghurt is very essential for athlete’s foot. Apply some plain yoghurt on the fungal spots. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash the feet and dry them well.
  5.  Add a few drops of mustard oil to a foot bath. Soak your feet completely in the foot bath for about half an hour. Rinse and dry your feet well.
